Sandy Wisehart

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Company Member since 2022

Sandy began dancing as a child in Russian ballet and later added jazz, tap, baton twirling, and marching band. An avid swimmer, she founded the Boerne High School Swim Team in the late 1980s, which remains ranked first in SwimCloud today.

She holds two degrees in Home Economics (now Family and Consumer Sciences) from West Virginia University, with additional studies at Adrian College in Michigan, the University of Miami, before completing her graduate studies at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. Her career has included roles as a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher for Northside ISD in San Antonio, Nutrition & Food Service Director for Comfort ISD, Food Service Director and chef for Heritage House nursing home in Boerne, and regional sales representative for Reader’s Digest. A dedicated foodie and her household’s chef, she has had several recipes featured by Treetop Fitness LLC, an organization focused on holistic, empathetic wellness. Sandy and her husband, Dan, relocated to Compass Pointe in Leland in 2018. Her favorite hobby is swimming, and she also enjoys Bunko, Mahjong, Zumba, social clubs, tap dancing, volunteering, shopping, and working as a stand-in for locally filmed productions such as George and Tammy, The Summer I Turned Pretty, and The Runarounds. She volunteers with the Paws for People therapy team in Wilmington as a dog walker and loves traveling to destinations including Ireland, England, Scotland, France, Greece, Croatia, Germany, and Australia. Sandy and Dan have two children, one grandson, and a miniature long-haired dachshund named Major. A favorite family story is that Dan’s long-lost relative, Bishop Wishart, was a patriot of William Wallace in Scotland and is honored on a stained glass window at Edinburgh’s Grace Cathedral.

She was invited to join the Hi-Steppers by fellow members and neighbors Felice and Elena and had the pleasure of studying under Annette Crumpton in her first year. Sandy says, “I am honored to be a part of this troupe. We have the best group of women. I love dancing with the ladies every Friday, and each of those moments is a pleasure. We all support each other and really have a good time. We have truly become a sisterhood!” Her favorite memory is winning the NC state championship at the NC Senior Games & Silver Arts Follies in 2025
